MISS SAM (TEACHER & HEAD ASSISTANT)
I have been a pupil at TVA since it first opened in 2005 and started working as a helper/assistant in 2008. I currently work with the lower age groups from prep class to grade 1. I am currently take classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern. After completing these I hope to get my ISTD teaching qualifications.
I have always wanted to dance. Being part of TVA and taking dance at GCSE and A level has greatened my love of dance and it is now something that I want to peruse for my career. I am currently in my final year at university studying dance and within the next few years I hope to be a dance teacher.
At TVA I have had so many fab opportunities from small medal tests and our annual dance show to performing in places such as the Liverpool Empire, Disneyland Paris, MSC Cruise, Blackpool winter gardens and many more.
MISS SIAN (TEACHER)
I have been working professionally for theatre schools since the age of 17 from teaching singing and drama in schools and communities to all ages and abilities. I have had a passion for performing and working with young people since i can remember. I trained for 3 years at Liverpool hope university and gained a BA Hons degree in creative and performing arts . During my training I learned every aspect of the performing arts world including singing,drama,dance,directing,producing,technical theatre and performance.
I started singing at the age of 8, taking part in many musicals,shows,festival,and choirs. I am trained in all genres from classical to pop achieving my singing qualifications with ABRSM and trinity.
MISS VICKY (THE PRINCIPAL)
My passion for dance and the performing arts began at the age of 3years old. I began my journey at The Mary Halford School of Dancing in Liverpool. I studied all genres here for many years and gained my ADA dance teaching qualifications alongside studying for my A-Levels at school. I carried on dancing there until I left school at age 18 and then went on to pursue my chosen career path in dance at The North Liverpool Dance Academy. Here i gained all my ISTD teaching qualifications (AISTD DDI DDE) in all genres. I also gained my Advanced 2 certificate in Tap, Modern and National and reached Intermediate level in Ballet. I taught in several dance schools in Liverpool to gain as much experience as possible whilst training along with performing in numerous prestigious venues.
After graduating in 2005, I went straight onto to open The Victoria Academy of Dance & Drama. I love my job and am so proud of my school and it's achievements!
I am for perfection in all aspects of my work, from admin behind the scenes to important choreography for our National competition entries. I believe this shows in all we do at my Academy.
CAROL (COSTUME/UNIFORM CO-ORDINATOR & DRESSMAKER)
As Miss Vicky's mum, I have had a love for dance since she started her first dance class in 1986. I always helped with costumes and chaperoned when she was in dance school and this didnt end when she opened her own. My main role is costuming every pupil for competitions and our annual show. This job takes up at least 6 months of the year with over 250 pupils to dress. All costumes are hand made and are fitted for every individual pupil. I pride myself in attention to detail and have won many awards for my costumes at Competitions across the country.
